I’m going to be honest and tell you that it’s taken me a long time to get to Tammy Thompsons class. There’s only one reason for this, until now her class was on a Sunday and it takes a crane to get me anywhere on Sunday.  However, she has a new class on the schedule and it’s Vinyasa Flow 1 on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-10:45; I’m in!!!!

I jumped at the chance to take Tammy’s class and I’ll tell you why. I’ve only chatted with her briefly and in passing but she seems to have a clarity and vibrance in her eyes that I rarely see.  I really felt it during her class; I didn’t look at her often but I could hear it in her voice.  She has the voice of a teenager.  Not in the egocentric immature way but it sounds light and hopeful.

Her class was one of the first classes I’ve taken in a long time with a solid blend of standing and sitting postures. If nobody else has noticed, the new trend is mostly standing  postures with 5 minutes of floor.  A seasoned instructor told me it’s because “that’s what the people want.”  Not me, I’m like a little grandma that wants to get to the lying posture.  I was ever so grateful for the sequencing!!

I was really zoning out during this class; I was up the prior evening with a spark of creativity that I posted about. I’m not sure if Tammy saw my post but she called one of the poses “artists pose”, I had never heard it referred to like that!!!  I’m not going to tell you which one, you’re going to have to get to her class to find out.

Hope is alive with Tammy and her class is filled with it.

Tammy’s offerings are “Vinyasa Flow” Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. & “Slow Flow w/Nidra” Sundays at 4:30
